Great Music at the Only All-Age Venue in Town

From the outside, it doesn’t look like much. Wedged in between University of Florida Nails and Wing Zone takeout, 1982 is easy to pass over if you don’t know what you’re looking for.
The live music venue’s front windows are wallpapered with promotional fliers for past and future concerts and events, which is about the only hint suggesting that behind those doors and windows is a club housing incredible talent and music.

Intern for College Publications at UF

As students of a college that has the second-largest undergraduate program in the nation, it is no wonder that finding a job or internship in Gainesville is a challenge in itself.
You could write for the Alligator, take photos for the Gainesville Sun, or just do nothing. But there are places out there, places right here, where students would never expect to look. And they might even offer you the opportunity to do everything. (more…)
Island Girl Rides Her Way into Gainesville

Though she grew up on the 21-by-7 mile island of New Providence in the Bahamas, Amanda Pinder has been around horses her whole life.
When Pinder, 21, came to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida in 2006, she had to get used to a new country, school and social life.
